There is a continuum from my
work as a mixed media artist to my jewelry design and manufacture.
I have been an artist since a
very young age and to me it is quite a natural process to see connections or
dialogues between different maters and different elements. I see jewelry as
more than adornments and objects of beautification and embellishments. In many
cases I look for the grain and the conceptual substance of a second skin. In
others the idea of hollow and empty, as an opportunity for creation and
conception of new ideas and visions, takes place. Sometimes the connection and
interaction between maters and materials become so strong that the process
takes the lead and all I have to do is to follow the flow of energy that
generates from it.
In my work I emphasize the natural attraction between the human matter and all natural and organic elements surrounding it. As the world is nothing but a sequence of molecular reactions. Everything gives and transforms and as everything else we are governed by a constant change or metamorphosis.
I often use natural elements such as wood, fiber and stones which presence and function become more than an esthetic aspect, purposely enriching the aura of a human been with healing and rebalancing results.
